Impacter and RESEARCHconnect introduce new research funding tools

Published at 2019-10-10 by Paul Tuinenburg

Impacter, together with Idox's RESEARCHconnect, has introduced new product features which provide research institutions with a streamlined way to focus research funding support where it matters.

In July 2019 we already announced that we signed a partnership agreement with RESEARCHconnect to provide an enhanced suite of funding tools to help support researchers across the world to identify and apply for funding opportunities. The initial phase of integration links content from both products, providing support throughout the funding workflow – from finding suitable funding calls, developing proposals, to identifying alternative sources of funding if unsuccessful. Maastricht University (UM) is one of the first Impacter clients to test and benefit from the enhanced functionality. As one of the best young universities in the world, UM is among the 18 highly-ranked founding members of the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN), which aims to create more opportunities for international research collaboration.

Willem Wolters, Funding Advisor at the University of Maastricht, commented: *β€œThe collaboration between RESEARCHconnect and Impacter offers the tools for both supporting staff and researchers to proactively work on raising funds by offering more information in a better structured way.” *

Further developments are planned, including making the instant feedback service of Impacter available for UK universities by including calls from funders like the AHRC, BBSRC, EPSRC, ESRC, MRC, NERC, STFC and more.

Henk Heerink, Managing Director of Idox Content, said: "This service integration is the first stage in our plans to introduce new innovative approaches to support researchers, research offices and institutions."

Paul Tuinenburg, Director of Impacter, commented: "Proposal development and internal review can be a time-consuming task. The partnership offers instant benefits to research institutions and research managers, and helps raise the quality of research proposals.”
